According to reports, the decision aims to provide greater financial relief to low-income households struggling with rising living costs. Officials say the increase will help around 1 crore 2 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Under the new decision, the quarterly payment for eligible families has been increased from Rs14,500 to Rs19,500. The revised amount will start from January 2027.
Authorities say the step is part of the government’s effort to strengthen Pakistan’s social protection system and offer stronger financial support to vulnerable communities.

Officials added that the program plays an important role in helping poor families manage basic expenses such as food, education, and healthcare.
The Benazir Income Support Program was launched in 2008 and has since become the largest cash assistance program in Pakistan’s history.
Over the years, the initiative has expanded significantly, supporting millions of women and families through direct financial aid.
With the latest increase, the government hopes to improve the financial stability of deserving households and reduce the economic pressure on the poorest segments of society.
